Information We Collect
Information you provide us.
To use some of our products and services you need to have an account, and to create an account, you need to provide us certain information. Likewise, if you use our products and services, we cannot provide them to you without getting payment information. Basically, certain information is necessary if you want to use many of our products and services.
Personal Accounts.
If you create an account, you must provide us with some information so that we can provide our services to you. This includes a display name, a password; an email address, phone number.
You also have to choose an institution and district in list which you are employed to,
Your profile information, which includes your display name and username, are always private only seen by the administrator on account registration and loan approval.
Payment Information
In order to receive a loan, you will need to provide us payment information, including your phone number, Bank and bank account number.
Biometric Information
Based on your consent, we may collect and use your biometric information for safety, security, and identification purposes.
We may collect and use your personal information (such as your employment history) for research and credit trend analysis.
Information we collect when you use Vapo Credit
When you use our services, we collect information about how you use our products and services. We use that information to provide you with products and services, to help keep Vapo credit more secure and respectful for everyone, and more relevant to you.
Information we receive from third parties.
When you use other online products and services, they may share information about that usage with us.
Our ad and business partners share information with us such as browser cookie IDs, mobile device IDs, hashed user information like email addresses, demographic or interest rate data, and content viewed or actions taken on a website or app. Some of our ad partners, particularly our advertisers, also enable us to collect similar information directly from their website or app by integrating our advertising technology. Information shared by ad partners and affiliates or collected by Vapo Credit from the websites and apps of ad partners and affiliates may be combined with the other information you share with Vapo Credit and that Vapo Credit receives, generates, or infers about you described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.
How We Use Information
Information we collect is used broadly into three ways as below:
Applying for a loan
We use the information we collect when you apply for a loan where you fill in your name, the institution, phone number and bank account number and Email as part of the process for loan application.
Processing the loan
We use the information we collect to process the loan by Vapo Credit and the Institution your registered under. In order to verify authenticity, Vapo Credit will verify your names, telephone contact, bank account number provided for the safety, security and fraud prevention from our users, our products, services, and your account. This includes verifying your identity, authenticating your account, and defending against fraud, unauthorized use, and illegal activity.
After loan processing but before disbursement, the information we collect is shared with the administrator of the institution under which you are registered for approval.
Disbursing of Loan money
When disbursing funds, we will use the information we collect in collaboration with third parties to effect the transaction. We will use your telephone or bank account details to deposit money into your bank account or phone number to deposit money on your mobile money account.
Loan Repayment
We use the information we collect to update your account with the monthly payments you make.
Measure, analyze and make our services better.
We use the information we collect to measure and analyze the effectiveness of our products and services and to better understand how you use them in order to make them better.
Communicate with you about our services.
We use the information we collect to communicate with you about our products and services, including about product updates and changes to our policies and terms. If you’re open to hearing from us, we may also send you marketing messages from time to time.
Research.
We use information you share with us, or that we collect to conduct research, surveys, product testing, and troubleshooting to help us operate and improve our products and services.
Sharing Information
When you open an account and register with us.
At account opening and registration the information we collect is shared with the administrator of the institution under which you are registered for authentication.
When required by law, to prevent harm, or in the public interest.
We may preserve, use, share, or disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to:

How Long We Keep Information
How we secure your information: using appropriate technical and organizational measures such as storing your information on secure servers, encrypting transfers of data to or from our servers using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, encrypting payments you make on or via our website using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, only granting access to your information where necessary.
We keep different types of information for different periods of time: We keep your profile information and content for the duration of your account.
We generally keep other personally identifiable data we collect when you use our products and services for a minimum of 5 years as required by tax laws of Uganda.
Where you violate our Rules and your account is suspended, we may keep the identifiers you used to create the account (i.e., email address or phone number) indefinitely to prevent repeat policy offenders from creating new accounts.
We may keep certain information longer than our policies specify in order to comply with legal requirements and for safety and security reasons.
How long we retain your information: for no longer than necessary, taking into account any legal obligations we have (e.g. to maintain records for tax purposes), any other legal basis we have for using your information (e.g. your consent, performance of a contract with you or our legitimate interests as a business.

When you register and create an account on our App, we collect the following information: name, email address, IP address and any other information you provide to us when you complete the registration form, including your company name/institution.
If you do not provide the mandatory information required by the registration form, you will not be able to register or create an account on our website.

You can access, correct, or modify the information you provided to us by editing your profile.
To protect your privacy and maintain security, we take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to your personal information or complying with a deletion, portability, or other related request. We may, in certain situations, reject your request for access, correction, or portability, for example, we may reject access where you are unable to verify your identity.
Deleting your Information.
When deactivated, your account, including your display name, username, and public profile, will no longer be viewable.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
The most current version of this Privacy Policy governs our processing of your personal data and we may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time as needed.
If we do revise this Privacy Policy and make changes that are determined by us to be material, we will provide you notice and an opportunity to review the revised Privacy Policy before you continue to use vapo credit.
